Turkey in Maui!

A shot of one of many of Maui's beautiful sunsets...
We thought about scuba diving in that area... but changed our mind. :) I love the rocky coast lines...

Uncle Derek and Aunt Hilly with baby Jocelyn. THey flew in from Oahu and spent the week with us.

A view from the Westin Beach where we stayed. Will loved to play with his sand toys and throw them in the water. Often mom or helpful children helped to bring the toys back.

Will had a blast in the ocean and in the pool and roaming the Westin grounds, but he didnt love the 5 plus hour flight each way. Grandma Susie gave us a portable DVD player that was great so we could watch ..big giant...incrediables...walle...over and over again.

We stayed at the fabulous Ka'anaplai Westin Resort villas with Grandpa Ray and Grandma Christy. It was built in Jan of 08...and BEAUTIFUL!!!

Grandma Christy and Grandpa Ray and Iao valley. It was raining all the way to the site, and when we got there the clouds cleared and it was beautiful.

Uncle Jeffy went deep sea fishing and caugh a whopper mahi mahi. It was delicious!!!

Blaise and Will along one of the many coast lines. Will was a real trooper..

Blaise playing a little water basketball. Don't worry...he was wearing sun screen...:)

The fam at the Garden of Eden. It was a 20 plus acre garden on the way to Hana that was so lush and green we really thought we were in the garden of eden. A couple scenes from Jurassic park were filmed here and we were on the watch for Raptors...
This was one of my favorite things we did in Maui as we really go to see how beautiful the island is...

Will literally spent hours playing in the showers by the beach/pool area. He loves getting wet and playing in the water...even fully dressed.
Thanks so much to Grandma and Grandpa Corbett for inviting us on the fabulous Maui getaway! We so appreciate your generosity and love!! We had a great time! Let's do it again next year?? :)

Seattle!!

We went to Seattle for a week to see Grandma and Grandpa Williams. We went to the zoo, the aquariam, Mt. Rainier, Marymoore park, the temple, Cafe Juanita in Kirkland for a fabulous date night and several walks around Lake Washington. The weather was perfect and everyone had a great time. Blaise wants to pack our bags and move up there!

San Diego

A panda posing for the camera at the San Diego Zoo. The best zoo in the US!!
The view from our hotel room in san diego. That's the Torrey Pines Golf Course...
Will and Blaise and a Zebra. Will ran around the whole time so it was hard to get any great shots.
We went to San Diego and took Will to the San Diego Zoo. It was fabulous!! We have been to several zoo's and this has been our favorite by far. This is a picture of Will and Blasie on the overhead tram at the Zoo. Will and I were pretty nervous...

SO MUCH FUN!

We taught Will to hold up his finger and say "one" when we ask him old he is. He also says "three feet" when we ask him how tall he is! This is a picture of him at Grandma Christy's. We recently got our backyard relandscaped, so I will post pictures of that soon.

Summer Update

Will LOVES sharks, fish, Nemo, turtles, whales, star fish, sting rays...all things in the ocean.
We are having a great summer! We have had several visitors and are expecting more before the summer is over! Will has been a hoot! He talks non stop-mostly about animals and bubbles and taking a bath. Will had his 18 month check up and his is getting super big! Doctor Gold projected his height to be between 6"4 and 6"8...Blaise is getting him all ready for Shrimp football. Can't wait. :) He loves to point out words that he knows in books and around town. Will is super friendly and loves to give "high fives" and "knuckles" to complete strangers!
We are looking forward to a trip to Seattle to see Grandpa Brian and Grandma Astrid and a trip to Las Vegas to see baby Andrew and Katherine a little later this summer. We are going to see Derek, Hillary and baby Jo Jo in Hawaii in November-yeah!
Blaise has been busy with renewal and is thrilled that all went VERY well and is looking forward to seeing his family on Saturday. The Harris clan is coming to visit for a week. YEAH!!

Summer Update cont..

Grandma Christy and Will at the beach. Will is starting to love the waves...
Will at the long beach aquariam...we went with Grandma and Grandpa Corbett. He looks a little pooped here. It was stimulation overload. At the beach... we went to Parker's Lighthouse for lunch after...delicious!
I just love sweater vests...
Blaise's good friend Scott came down for a visit with his girl friend Nikki from San Fransisco. We went to the Santa Barbara zoo, nordstrom, lunch and watched a TON of tennis. Go Roger!

Happy Father's Day!

Blaise was out of town for most of the weekend at the US Open at Torrey Pines watching Tiger(he got a little color), but he made it home late last night for Father's Day. Blaise is the BEST father to Will and they have a lot of fun playing and rough housing together. Will loves when DA DA comes home and reads to him and takes him to the park!
My dad came to visit recently and it was so great to see him interact with WIll. I too have a very special dad!
I hope you all have a wonderful Father's Day!

Will Update

My dear friend Sarah and her family stayed with us last weekend and she took this picture of Will for me. It was so much fun having her stay with us!!! It brought back the BYU days and Will loved playing with Kennedy and Pieper. Blaise and Jake played golf and we hit the outlet malls!!

WIll can say almost 70 words and says "I love you" and "where did it go?" His favorite things are fish, pizza and balls (not necessarily in that order). We bought him a pet gold fish (kirby) and so far he is still alive. :)

Underwood Farms

My mom and I took Will to Underwood Farms in Somis last week. He loved feeding the horses and was a little nervous about riding them, but was a great sport! Thanks, Mom!

Solvang!

Auntie April and Emily came to visit and took Will to Solvang. He loved a beautiful park that they played at and ate a apple danish.
Daddy and Will on the swing...
Will in "the shoe" in Solvang. He would not sit still so this is the best one we got...

Random Sampler...

My Dad and Astrid came to visit last week and we went to the Santa Barbara Zoo. We had a great time and Will learned the word "turtle". I wonder if it is too early for a pet?
Will loves to snuggle up with any willing reader. Here he is with Grandpa Brian and Grandma Astrid. "More"....
Will LOVES flowers! He searches high and low for them so he can make the baby sign and then clap for himself that he discovered a flower. We tell him that he is our flower...:)

The Dirty Dozen

What is the dirty dozen?
In 2006, the Environmental Working Group released an updated report that identified foods in the conventional, non-organic food supply that contained the highest number of pesticide residues. The worst offenders, which were nicknamed the "dirty dozen," included:
Apples
Bell peppers
Celery
Cherries
Grapes (imported)
Lettuce
Nectarines
Peaches
Pears
Potatoes
Spinach
Strawberries

I was recently told by our water softer technician that non-organic strawberries were full of pesticides. I had been buying baskets a week from a local berry farm. Anyway, I did a little research on what fruits and veggies were high in pesticides and the results were very disturbing. We try and buy organic when available, but i would stay away from the above list unless organic...
If you want to read more about what pesticides can do to you and your system check out drgreene.com

My favorite cuties..

Will is turning into such a character! He can say over 40 words and make several animal sounds and has discovered the joy of chocolate...thanks, Dad.

Ah, Paris...

Paris was wonderful...but, freeezing. Blaise and I had both been to Paris before, but this was our first time together and we thouroughly enjoyed the FOOD the architecture and the sights. We will be posting all of our pics from Europe on Kodak.com soon and will send out a link. Blaise wrote a twelve page write up on our trip (very detailed) if anyone cares to read it let me know and I will send the file...I think his true calling in life is to be a travel writer....:) He often laments that he is a "supressed traveler." Welcome to the life of having a small child... We are looking forward to Hawaii later this year.

Europe cont...

We had a great time in Italy and France! The only thing that was missing was Will. Theese two pictures were taken by the Arno in Florence near our hotel.
